A backdoor is a malware type that negates normal authentication procedures to access a system. As a result, remote access is granted to resources within an application, such as databases and file servers, giving perpetrators the ability to remotely issue system commands and update malware.

Like any malicious code, it runs in the background without paying attention to the victim. Thus, a backdoor virus is a malicious code that, using system flaws and vulnerabilities, is used to facilitate remote unauthorized access to a computer system or program.

Can I detect the backdoor virus by myself? The only sign you will notice is most likely a PC slowdown. GridinSoft Anti-Malware has a runtime protection feature that uses a heuristic engine to detect malware.
