The map shows how Ryemouth has changed over the previous two decades. Many changes have taken place, the most significant of which are improvements in lodging, an end to fishing, and a plethora of sports facilities being built in the area
In 1995, there was a large fish market and a fishing port to the south of the village, near the sea. Right next to it, there was a little cafe. Farmland and a park with trees were found in the north east area of town, while five shops and a hotel was on the opposite side of the road that ran along the sea. There were twelve structures in the hamlet, four of which were encircled by a smaller side-street in the north-west, around a major road that connects to the seashore road.
This map shows that there are no fishing facilities left on the present mapquest driving directions, and the companies have been transformed into restaurants. The café and hotel are still there, but parking is now available. To create way for tennis courts, the farmland was converted into a golf course and the wooded park was bulldozed. New houses have been built, as well as a new road with two new dwellings on each side of it, despite the fact that the old ones are still standing.
