I think you mean a 32nd note. They are normally counted in one of two ways. Either stated as "1-e-&-da" or as "1-ta-te-ta" depending on what style of counting you use. I am sure there are other ways as well, but these seem to be the most popular in the US.
The way I know is that a 32nd note is 1/8 of a quarter note. You would have to play 8 32nd notes to equal a quarter note. They would take up the same amount of time. Hope this helps
