I quit and havent played for like 8 yrs. do you think when I pick one up again it will all come back to me or will i have to start all over?

But, pick up your violin and go for it. You may have to start back slowly, but it will come back with time and than you'll be on your way. This time around you are more mature and it's something you want to do and you will bring something to music you play that maybe you were unable to when you were younger.
Let us know what you decide to do.

Motivation beats age anytime.
..pass me that treble clef, Mildred.
