Its always been a dream of mine to learn how to play the cello, but I know nothing about them! Are there any cello players out there who can tell me how to, or help me, get started???
Any information...even basic would be much appreciated.

I can tell you a little. It is wiser to buy yourself a full size cello if you are in high school- even if it is too big, if you buy,you will grow into it.
To buy or rent is another issue all of its own. If you are serious about it, it is also better to spend the cash and buy an intermediate cello, as you can upgrade with better strings, bridge, bow etc. Sorry, but a cheap cello will always sound cheap.
Dont be afraid of secondhands- check they are in reasonable condition etc,and have them checked out by a professional. The older stringed instruments are, the richer their tone.
Post back if you want to know anything.
