I would write my essays week in, week out and they would come back marked “1/10 see me”. I would “see” teacher who would rant at me for a few minutes with helpful phrases such as “it is just not what is wanted”. I asked “what was wanted?” and was shown examples of work covered in spelling and grammar corrections, and marked “9/10, excellent”. I replied “you want me to put spelling and grammatical errors into my essays?”, and was rewarded with a few hundred lines of punishment.

O levels were approaching and I was getting a bit concerned I would fail, so I started to ask for help elsewhere. A Biology Phd student I happened to know had a look at my essays and immediately identified the problem: I was trying to be too original. He suggested stuffing my language essays full of cliches and regurgitating Coles (Cliff) Notes for my literature essays. Following his advice, my marks instantly improved. I passed both exams. I didn’t even bother reading the course books

Good teaching plays an important role, especially now, I have lost a lot of knowledge due to quarantine, advise me a good tutor or an online resource where they will help me improve my knowledge.

I also recently realized that I need a tutor. And I found a great site with professional tutors here https://studymind.co.uk/. The tutor helped me better understand the subject. In addition, when it comes to preparing for professional exams, for example, medical entrance exams, etc., it really helps to study with a tutor, because in addition to providing guidance and knowledge on the subject, the tutor will also provide you with course content, assignments, and trial tests, interviews. Preparatory material that is suitable for a specific exam, which otherwise would be difficult to find on your own.
