#beginquote# Music here is very similar to the US, as far as popular music goes. The kids I teach like much the same music as that popular in other Western countries. There is the sort of limited domestic music you would expect to find in country of only 20 million people, although I have to say that we Aussies have done more than our share of exporting music..think AC/DC, Peter Allen, Bee Gees, etc, etc. Crap? Maybe, but saleable. Today I have had to teach a choir of 6-16 year olds to sing "'We Are The World"", during which we transposed it from D Maj to E Maj , teach a class of 14 year olds to arrange and play on keyboards and guitar "'Summertime"' from Porgy And Bess, analysed Beethoven's 3rd and 8th symphonies with a class of 15 year olds, and directed a Fijian Dance troupe.
