#beginquote# They are performers or entertainers, rock, rap etc are not artists. It's hard for me to understand how these performers can be called artists. Most of these performers counldn't be heard without mikes. I think that Broadway Musicals sometimes sound like a CD - and for the most part, people who perform on Broadway have legitimate voices and the orchestra is composed of well-trained musicians. Why does everything have to be so loud? I have a hard time calling this music to begin with. It all sounds pretty much the same to me - hammering away at the same few notes. My guess that the same was said about rock 'n' roll and folk songs - and I don't recall the Beatles, the Mama and the Papas, Peter, Paul and Mary referred to as artists, but they were/are in a way. Guess there's something for everyone.:) :( #endquote#
