#beginquote# ...suxyq is right, although her one and a half hour practice sessions sound way beyond anything I could motivate myself toward. Your're never too old,Mike, and never too young when it comes to loving music and playing the music you love..and that's the secret. If you try to learn at a mature age (ie: anything over teens) you will crash and burn if you don't learn using music you like..and the last thing you need is some clown half your age telling you what to do. No,you don't need to go back to school (I assume you mean go to a music school) but learning to read notes, if that's the thing you are talking about, is easy for guitar, very easy indeed. You like Dobro? Play Dobro..you like Punk..? Play Punk (..and Blues, and all the other styles) But if you go to a music store and buy a book, it will have baby songs, or old stuff you have never heard, that's the problem, and that's where so many guitarists fall of the music stand, say it's all too hard, and never pick up the guitar again. If you can play a bit, buy some sheet music (not rap) and put the chords you know into it, and buy a chord book. Baruch 3:14 #endquote#
