#beginquote# The notes continue in the music alphabet (a through g) even when above or below the staff. You use a "ledger line" to write those notes. A ledger line looks just like the little line which goes through middle c. By using these, you can extend the staff as far as you like. Lead trumpets, flutes and other instruments often play notes using 4 or more ledger lines above the staff. Same for Tubas below. GOOOOOOROOOOOO #endquote#
