#beginquote# Sheet music is a good move, but check the Key Signiture before you buy it- any more than one sharp or flat may curb your drive at this stage...and lots of fast passages may mean you are on the same piece for weeks. The big difference between learning from a book or from a teacher is that, unless you are learning Classical, a good teacher will use the type of music you like to cover the techniques you are learning. If you only want heavy metal or punk, of course, or anything just using TAB a book will do the trick most times. Around half the people that private teachers deal with will tell you that they have tried learning from books first. #endquote#
