#beginquote# Hi, I just received a new violin for Christmas. I'm familiar with playing. I have 9 years experience... but I have never owned my own violin. I also haven't picked up the instrument for the past 8 years. So if anyone out there knows a thing or two about getting it set up and what to look for to make sure it is a decent quality violin I would appreciate the help. It looks like its in good shape to me, no cracks, nice finish, etc. The only thing I noticed that looks a little different to me is the bridge. It has a slight downward curve where the E string lays (far right string). I was wondering if this matters or if bridge shape changes depending on the instrument. Please Help. Thanks. P.S. the model is a Strunal 220 violin. I got it from "The String Center" (online). #endquote#
