The telecommuting is here to stay, and if just before the arrival of confinement because of the pandemic only 9% of Spaniards working under this system, every day job profiles are inclined to work remote.

Remote job offers in Spain are increasing at a different rate than other EMEA countries
The social network used the integrated remote filters and a series of keywords, such as remote work, work from home, workoffice, in addition to remote job views and applications, as well as the growth of job offers under this modality in 10 languages different in Europe and the Middle East.
While globally the share of remote job postings on LinkedIn has grown by 181% from the first week of March to the last week of May, the volume of job searches using the “remote” filter increased 60% from beginning of the study.

But on taking a closer look at EMEA, remote job openings increased at a variable rate :
Percentage of increase in remote job offers by country
• France : 136%
• Germany: 200%
• Italy: 178%
• Holland: 245%
• Spain: 282%
• United Arab Emirates: 156%
• UK : 277%
Spain is the country with the highest increase in the number of remote job offers, reaching 282%, followed by the United Kingdom (277%), the Netherlands (245%) and Germany (200%), while France presented only an increase of remote job offers of 136%.
However, the views of remote jobs, although they have also shown an increase, in most cases this increase does not coincide with the same growth rates that are presented in the job offers.
The search for remote work is also increasing… to a lesser degree
For example, in the case of Spain, while the supply of remote work increased 282%, the increase in views was 213%, a percentage that differs more in the case of the United Kingdom, which showed an increase of 200% in job offers, while remote role views were only 118% higher.
This means that companies have had to adapt their hiring tactics and streamline them to continue operating , yet the population has not adapted at the same rate. Despite this, teleworking is here to stay, as evidence of this adjustment by companies indicates that flexible and remote working is becoming a standard, which will help expand typical talent pools that may have been restricted. by physical locations.
The remote work request in Spain increased by 169%, while the United Arab Emirates experienced the largest increase with 293%, while Germany only experienced an 84% increase in telework request, which despite being large, shows the great variation of this type of searches between countries, especially when taking into account that Germany showed an increase of 200% in its remote job offers.
Increase in the percentage of remote job applications by country:
• France: 91%
• Germany: 84%
• Italy: 114%
• Netherlands: 148%
• Spain: 169%
• United Arab Emirates: 293%
• UK: 189%
In Spain, low profiles are requested while in the rest of Europe the most required positions are high
Clearly, the seven countries analyzed by LinkedIn show growth in remote job application, however the types of roles vary from one to another.
In Spain, the main offer for remote jobs were customer service executives, key account managers, social media managers, PHP developers and marketing specialists , a somewhat different offer than in France , the main remote positions requested were m arketing manager, legal officer, marketing specialist, regional sales manager, and data scientists.
In the case of the United Arab Emirates, the main offer was for sales executives, followed by customer support representative, business developmen manager, administrative assistant and marketing manager, while in the United Kingdom, the main offer was for director of marketing , followed by data analyst, account manager, customer support representative and chief technology officer.
Will remote roles maintain their recent popularity? o Is it just the immediate need? While time will tell what the answer is, everything seems to indicate that we are witnessing a change in the talent ecosystem that is here to stay.
