Last time i was visiting several web-sites, when I was in China, i wasn't unable to connect. As far as I know ISP and government blocking web-sites due censorship. Everytime you try to visit, you should first enable a VPN, a chrome addon Free VPN VeePN, will always work like a charm, so no big deal here. I believe it has paid version but you should be fine even with free one. Good luck!
