If you've ever wanted to listen to hörbücher kostenlos but couldn't afford the subscription fee, you can still download free audiobooks from a variety of sources. For example, you can visit Lightspeed Magazine's website and get free audiobooks in their podcast section. These recordings are narrated by award-winning storyteller Stefan Rudnicki.

Other options include Project Gutenburg, where volunteers read and record classical literature. You can browse by author, genre or keyword. The service also allows you to play audiobook samples before downloading them. Another good resource is Librivox, which has over 13,000 free public domain audiobooks.

You can also download free audio books through a subscription service like Audible. These services offer audiobooks of both popular and lesser-known books. Membership registration is free. Once you're a member, you can add audiobooks to your library shelf. You can read them later if you want. If you are not satisfied with the service, you can cancel your subscription at any time.
