Not really. I used to always brush my teeth twice a day. When I went to https://smiledoctors.com/treatment/invisalign-for-adults/ to buy something for the clinic to put in a post and a bridge, they told me that brushing is the least you can do. Generally, a person should remove tartar and always (!) brush after eating. But not everyone can, right? Then, because of the tartar, the gum shifts, forming periodontal pockets. Infection fistulas form there and the bone tissue becomes inflamed. If tartar is removed in time, then any decay can be noticed and the tooth can be filled. And heredity also plays a big role. So, not always home cleaning will save you from the consequences that can occur after badly cleaned teeth.

But, as a preventative measure, how often should you go to the dentist?

It depends on your teeth, but at least six months is recommended. However, to avoid visiting the dentistry more frequently, you must respect all hygiene rules, as was mentioned. Brush your teeth twice a day, floss once a day, and so on. Many people do not wash their teeth correctly, resulting in the formation of stones. My dentist at perfectasmile.com informed me of this and showed me how to do it properly. In any case, it's best to speak with your dentist about it. This will save you money, time, and nerves.
