Something to do with 5. I THINK it is a scale with just 5 notes. I used to really know, but I may have forgotten exactly. But I think it's a scale with just 5 notes. Someone back me up.

Penta (5) tonic is a scale with 5 notes before returning to the octave of the first note.

The most common is the major pentatonic (1 2 3 5 6 8 ), or (C D E G A C).

There are variations and others, but this is what is most commonly reffered to.
