I have a Boosey & Hawkes Clippertone cornet with a Regent Street address, and a serial number 39583. It belonged to a grandfather of mine. He had two cornets. He played cornet in the London, England Police brass band during the reign of Queen Victoria. I am told he had participated in Royal Command performances at the Crystal Palace, in front of Queen Victoria. I am wondering of the age of this instrument, and whether it might have been the instrument he used during these performances? Can anyone estimate the vintage, and whether it might be old enough to be the instrument he used.

Thanks
Canuck
