Voicings are made to be customized. Ideally we can do all the voicings presented to us, but this isn't an idea world. Sometimes it's just a matter of finger placement within the frets themselves, other times it's a matter of finding another voicing entirely to get the chords.
Experiment and practice daily, you will get it

Voicings are the structure your fingers take when creating a chord on the fretboard. I have a really odd way of voicing a "D" chord, based on finger strength, I start by barring E, B, and G at the 2nd fret with my first finger, then use the 3rd finger on B at the 3rd fret. I have not seen that recommended anywhere, but it seems to work for this novice

The program was a nice start, but limited somewhat. I also went to GuitarNoise.com and learned some, as well as the site we are on.
At my local music shop, I bought a couple books called "Guitar Method" from Progressive. Really nice, simple stuff that even I can understand, They have a website at Progressive
Hope that helps you!
