i am just learning to play piano and i have some sheet music but at the begening after the cleft sign there is 4 sharp symbols. what does this mean can someone help?

This is called the key signature, and it tells you what key the piece of music is in. This particular piece is either in E Major or C# minor.
What this means is that every F, C, G, and D in the piece will be sharp unless there is an accidental in front of one of those four notes somewhere in the piece. Hope this helps!
