I was checking out a flute and didn't see any identifying marks. the person selling it told me it was a yasoco brand. Highly regarded. It was not selling cheap. I told them I would get back to them. After extensive internet research and questioning many people, no one seems to have heard of a yasoco? Any ideas here?

Considering Google only pulled up 5 replies for "yasoco flute" I would avoid it like the plague. Generally speaking if nobodies heard of it, it's probably not a good instrument. I've been teaching 25 years and I've never heard of it.

I just got one in my repair shop... decent enough. Not like a lot of Chinese junk that comes through. High register is not pretty, but middle and lower octaves seem not too bad.

I play and record with an Artley. Just bought a red Yasoco and found it to have beautiful tone and quick action. They are cheap, but I have no complaints. Being red it also adds a little flash on stage.

I have a Yasoco Flute and it plays amazing its loud, clear, I use it for marching band season and concert band. My music instructors have never heard of it but have played it and said its a really good flute.

The answer to your question "is a yasoco flute good?"
yes its a really good flute, just because it has never been heard of does not mean its not good.

I got mine for Christmas a year ago its only been to the shop once because of a screw falling out but that happens to all flutes.

I love my Yasoco Flute and dont doubt it, it is truly an amazing flute. Hope this helped with your flute descison
