In the keyboards, orchestra bells would be considered the highest and marimba the lowest.
I'm relating this to the traditional band/orchestra so if you are referring to some exotic instrument, who knows.
Not sure what this relates to. Kind of a silly question to ask of a student from a teacher in my opinion, since percussion are not usually thought of as "highest" or "lowest" pitch. This sounds like a question from a teacher to a student. We get a lot of these.

Registered: 7/10/2007 | posted: 7/10/2007 at 4:07:45 PM ET I would say that the highest is the snare drum and the lowest would be the "dinner bell". If you are stuck playing a percussion instrument that only has two or three appearances in the music, I would suggest a little practice and a renewed dedication to music.
