There are a number of sight singing method books available to help anyone learn to read music.
Do you remember the Sound of Music? The children learned how to sing using solfege syllables: do-re-mi-fa-sol-la-ti-do. That would give you a start. Please speak with your choir director and he/she will get you started in the right direction.

I got involved with other things and didn't take up the tip but now I wish I hadn't. You can find a Private Lessons teacher in the news papers and sometimes at your own school! Maybe there is someone in your church choir who is willing to teach you? Good Luck
