IM NEW TO THE GUITAR AN I WANTED TO FIND OUT MORE ABOUT IT AND HOW TO PLAY. IM GETTING AN INSTRUCTOR BUT I WANTED TO KNOW WHAT'S THE BEGINNING STEPS, WHAT'S THE FIRST STRING TI PLUCK WHEN YOUR JUST LEARNING AND WHERE DO U GO FRM THERE. WHICH STRINGS DO I HOLD DOWN AND DOES ANYONE KNOW A SIMPLE KNOWN SONG WITH SHEET MUSIC THAT I CAN GET WITHOUT PAYING FOR IT? I KNOW MANY QUESTION BUT IT WOULD BE NICE TO KNW THANX!

Welcome to the forum.

There are lots of sites on the web, just do a Google Search.

Just thought of something, there are sites for beginning guitar players, I'm sure you'll find one that will get you started.

A couple of things I would suggest: Get a steel string, not nylon. Change the strings to extra light (the 1st will be a size .010). Don't play the G Maj chord with fingers 123, use fingers 234...and dab a little methoylated spirits of the ends of your LH fingers for the first week or two to toughen them up. If you want an instruction book, go for the Progressive series.
