Today I was in the music department to give the band director a suggestion for next years program, and he was in one of the practice rooms with a guitar. A friend had given it to him, It's a Takaminie electric accoustic, quite nice too. He knows I play, so he was asking me about chords and the notes, and before I knew it , I was giving him a guitar lesson. This may work out for me. I can give him guitar lessons, and he can teach me to read music, and at a much faster rate than on my own. I almost forgot, Yesterday,Sunday), My son and I went to an organ recital in a nearby town. The organ was rebuilt in 2002 by the Berghaus Organ co. from Chicago IL. at a cost of one million dollars. It's a great sounding instrument, but a million dollars could have gotten a brand new instrument. Anyway, the organists were all local musicians who have gone to different parts of the country, and have played in other countries as well. The instrument consists of 4 seperate ranks of pipes. One rank is directly in front of the four manual keyboard, wit two opposing ranks on each side of the santuary, and the fourth is in the loft at the rear of the church. The music was very nice indeed, and a wonderful diversion from the winter gloom. A professional Chorale performed two peices with the Church choir, and the audience joined in for the last choral peice. This was accompanied on the organ by Mark Barone, another former area resident who now hosts a PBS cyndicated show called "PIPEDREAMS", which airs nationally on Sunday mornings. As the name would suggest, the program plays pipe organ music recorded from around the nation.

Thanks for responding to my timing question posted 4/16. I appreciate your answer and sense of humor. I understand what you meant and now I'll be able to explain it to my friend. Have a good one.

Tell him to try the G Maj chord using the 2, 3 an 4 fingers..it saves heaps of work changing, and if he wants to combine notes and chordfs later on, it is far easier.
