When playing a high note on the trumpet ,such as a high Eflat, seems like it gets to loud because it takes a lot of air to reach the high notes. In summer band we played a song called "How deep is your love". Well in the song the trumpets have to get to a high Eflat while playing P(piano). Can anyone give me tips to keep the volume down while playing up high.

Breath support and a firm embouchure. The reason it comes out so loud is that many younger players use more air than embouchure to get the note. I'm the opposite. As a percussion major I don't have the breath support, but I have a good embouchure (plus lots of lip slurs). With a good wamrup I can get a Super C. OH, YES I CAN!It's not very loud
