I wonder if anybody has read a book by Charles Cooke called playing the Piano for Pleasure.

I was looking for books on music on Amazon.com and it seemed that it might be a good one but too expensive.

If you did read this book, what did you think about it. Thanks for your feedback.

I haven't read it myself but I was wondering if they had that book, or one like it, at your local library? Less costly to borrow.

Just checked and they have it at my local library. 2 copies in fact. Hope your search proves successful.

Hi Toonz,

I would love to borrow the book, and the New York Public Library has two copies one is in storage and the other is unavailble at this time.

This makes no sense to me and I emailed them saying as much. What good is a book in storage and why list them at all? They really are nuts. Thanks for getting back to me - I'm not going to buy the book, it's to expensive and hard to get.

Keep strumming the guitar.

Keep checking at the library for the next little while. That book in storage might be getting repaired and the one not available might be out on loan. Can you put the book on hold? If so, do that. Then they will call you when you can come and pick it up.
Happy reading.

Hi Toonz,

I emailed the library and since I'm at work I don't know it they have answered yet.

I did try to reserve the book, and that was how I found out that one copy was unavailable and the other in storage - it's a wonder they list books that can't be checked out. Thanks for the suggestions.

Hi Toomz

Me again, sorry about the anoymous posting, I didn't have my password with me. I'm still waiting for a reply from the Library - it might take a while.

I'm going to check the Library where my brother works.

Hey Suzyq,

Were you ever successful at getting the book you wanted from the library? I'm curious.
