I am doing a music essay and I need to find out what the name is of the brass instrument that is actually rather different than the other instruments. Is it the trombone? And why is it different to the other brass instruments.
Thanks

The only thing I can think of that would make the trombone drastically different from other brass instruments is the fact that is produces its range of notes via a slide rather than valves.
