A re-accuring theme I hear on this site are people looking for easy ways to do/learn things about music and performing. i'm sorry to say htere are no "quick fixes" in music. You either know how to play or you don't. If you don't/can't then practice is the only avenue to follow. No good musician got that way by accident (self-taught or not self-taught). They all practiced.

Sightreading and counting have been quite a challenge.
Practice, practice and "all that Jazz"

I was at work when I responded to this post, sight reading and counting, is a chanllenge, and there is no easy way.
Those of us who are beginners just need to keep at it - and we have to give ourselves a pep talk now and than.
I think learning to play the piano or any other instrument that you've always wanted to learn is exciting. Let's keep at it.
