Please can you add a bit on your terrific website about how to actually read music instead of the notes. Is there a quick way to learning how to read music? I've been trying for a while and just can't get going! Thank you xxxx

There is no way to read music without reading the notes. The notes ARE the music. There are several good sites about reading music. I don't have any of them handy now (I'm at home, not work), but they can be found on google, etc. Type in reading music or some conbination of words along this line and you should get enough to get you on your way.

UH. Your the one asking inane questions and you call ME a dumb-ass. If you are having trouble reading and playing at the same time, then you are ....well.....FREAKING CLUELESS.
Don't come here and insult us who have up to 30-40 years of playing and/or teaching experience, ask questions that make no sense, then bitch about the answer.
Grow up , get a life, and find a REAL musician to help you because you're not one.

it takes practice. if you can count up to four you have your ground esatblished. the way you learn music is not set in stone so you can learn it your own way but if you want to play smooth then practice whatever you do slowly then speed it once you know it backwards.

i strongly agree. all we need is patience in order to learn and move on. don't be in a rush. take it slowly but surely.
