How long does it take to learn how to play the fiddle well. I started when I retired at 53. Now I am 58 and while I do play many songs and read music and tablature. I still squeek on occasions, hit the note eith sharp or flat sometimes, It takes me practicing a song 200-300 times before I could perform it with some success. I am beginning to get discouraged. Should I quit or keep working at it?

Hang in there if it feels right! There are many "Fiddle" players out there that dont mind playing with a new player. Check out your local Bluegrass Fests
