It is great and if u have the right mouth shape you can make some lovely sounds. It is easy 2 learn and you can start from their and move up 2 saxophone! Thats what I have done, but now that I play flute Saxophone is much easier.Flute is best aswell as saxophone!

You don't have to buy an ACTUAL piano, just buy an electronic keyboard and work your way up to a real piano later on. The best part about piano is that if you're playing in an orchestra, you get to be right up front and take all the credit (if the rest of the band is good). Also, piano is great because it covers just about every octave that you will ever see in music, so learning new instruments after that is very easy. Piano is the best instrument to start with -- it even gets you prepared for percussion in the future if you decide to go that route. Good luck with your music, I'm sure you're going to do great!

If done right and not treated as a toy it can make some great music... stevie wonder anyone??? All I got to say is that what you play depends on what type of person you are in a lot of ways. Pick that which connects to you. You'll know it when you find it.

quote: You got it - I'm a horn player! We are picky about that, aren't we? I even hate it when people call a trumpet or a trombone a horn! It's just not right! Although, at least I can understand where they're coming from. Calling a sax a horn makes no sense to me at all.... like I said, it's not even a brass instrument. Oh well, I guess I'll just have to try to get over it. After all, there's no way I'm going to get people to stop saying it!
Same here! It bothers me when I have to tell BAND DIRECTORS I play "French" Horn. Yet alone anyone else.
"What instrument do you play?"
"Well, I play the Horn."
:dd look::
"::sigh::... er, French Horn"
Usually I avoid it by just ...reluctantly... saying "French" Horn.
