| posted: 10/9/2004 at 8:59:05 PM ET I inherited a very nice keyboard, so I decided to fulfill a childhood dream and learn to play. But where do I start? I have never played any instruments before. Do I need to learn to read music? I have no ambitions to play professional but I just want to learn some songs to show off at parties

Registered: 5/26/2004 | posted: 10/12/2004 at 12:18:26 PM ET There have been many famous rock/jazz/blues musicians who could not read music. There have been very few "famous" as in legitimate performers/composers who could not read music IMO.
By legitimate I mean Classical/session/wind band/ orchestral musicians
