I'm in a orchestra class this year and I'm the only one who don't play an instrument...it's embarassing. I really really want to learn because it's my dream... Can any musicians or teachers tell me how or what are some good ways to start? any suggestion from experience. I really apreciate it.

Are you in beginning class or a more advanced class. If you're in a beginning class then your orchestra director will help you. If you are in an advanced class, you should have not been put in that position. Go to your school counslor and they will help you.

This is ascehduling problem. There is almost no way you can be on the same level with students who have played 2,3 or more years and you none. You need to confer witht he orchestra director and get this fixed. If not you will become very frustrated because you cannot perform on the same level as other students.

it is the only orhestra class in my school. they kind of mix the beginners and the higher level students together...i just happened to be one of the 2 beginners. that sucks, doesn't it?unfortunately the teacher doesn't really care,i am actually being taught by a student...

Yes this is a poor situation for you. I'm guessing you are in high school and beginning classes are in junior/middle school. In my group you would not have been allowed to be in the class. It is just a poor situation for you. Good luck.

That's a really unfortunate situation. I'm sure you can get through it though.
