#beginquote# The sharps or flats, depending on the key appear on the left on the staff in the first measure of the peice. The notes on the lines or spaces where the sharps or flats appear will be sharp or flat throughout the entire peice unless otherwise marked individually with another designation such as a natural. then only that note is played as a sharp flat or natural.
