#beginquote# I always use a Casio 428-451 for beginners, it has MIDI plus everything else you need and would expect for around $AUD250 and about the same or less in US dollars. If you can find a teacher who will teach you the style of music you like and cover the basics without boring you to tears with Three Blind Mice or similar, go for it. If the only teacher available is some hairy-faced old dragon who has taught the same thing, over and over, for the last fifty years and who has stopped many a potential musician in their tracks along the way , buy a book. The Progressive series has some excellent Keyboard instruction books. Baruch 3:14 #endquote#
