#beginquote# Thanks Pete, Glad you replied - you teach music and can help us all. I was just trying to encourage our new friend. When I first started to learn to play the piano, my teacher insisted that I learn to sigh-read, and it's something I found difficult at first and that's the way those lines and circles seemed to me even though I knew better. Sight-reading is finnaly happening - still have a way to go. Have trouble with notes that are above and below the staff, but that will come with practice. I agree with you about 7 year olds. I use to pick out simple melodies by ear and I probably drove my father nuts. If we could be "childlike" when learning as an adult, maybe progress would be a little faster. Don't know if this is so, you are the voice of knowledge and experience. Thanks. :) #endquote#
