#beginquote# There are several goo brands of flute. I prefer Geimeinhardt simply because they only make flutes so thier attention to detail is important to me. Yamaha does make a good flute although I don't care for it. Many teachers and professional do like Yamaha. Older (pre-2000) Artley and Armstrongs were pretty good. Selmer has purchased Conn so the quality of Artley and Armstrong is getting better so I am told. What you need to do is go to a music store and try out several different brands. A lot of what determines what you buy is your personal tastes. Also your performing level will make a difference. #endquote#
