#beginquote# I've majored on flute, but I've had some experience with the clarinet. With the flute, there is less to remember with the finger positions and breathing techniques. Also, once the fingerings are learned on the standard flute, they also stay the same with the piccolo, bass flute, so-on. Breath control may be one of the most difficult techniques to master, and triple tounging, but again, she probably won't get into that for a few years. Plus, the flute is very easy to care for, and you never have to worry about reeds! #endquote#
