#beginquote# Almost ANY band instrumentalist can get a scholarship. College bands as opposed to college football have no regulations on how many scholarships they can give (assuming money is available for them). As a high school band director I have had nominal performers get scholarships. As far as which instruments are most desired by college band directors? It knda depends on thier needs. Mainly, though, French Horn, any low brass, double reeds are any needed. If you audition for all-region band, make all- region band, audition for all-state band, and/or make all-state band your chnaces for a scholarship are enhanced. They are not, however, neccessities. Of the 20 students from my school who recieved scholarships only 10 made all-region. Hope this helps. #endquote#
