#beginquote# Personally, I feel that there are few instruments with the expressiveness of the violin, viola, cello, or perhaps the oboe. It sounds like a flutist made the statement you are refering to. It is true that both instruments are C instruments and play the same note as written. String instruments have the ability to play more than one note at a time and often use many chords. Pieces such as these would be far less pleasing to the listener if played on flute which would have to arpegiate these chords to supply any harmony. #endquote#
